A Gift that Lasts

It's a classic: the gift of jewelry. After all, it suffices to have a look at a fine jewelry selection, such as at goldsea.com/en for example, to appreciate why this is so. Sure, there are times when a gift that brings a more passing, rather than a lasting, pleasure is entirely appropriate. Something like a fabulous bath oil, bottle of champagne, or fine box of chocolates can be exactly the right, depending on the occasion. However, when it comes to commemorating a birthday, especially an age considered to be a significant milestone, or an event marking a major accomplishment such as a graduation, for instance, then it's more fitting to give a gift that truly lasts. That's when jewelry is often the perfect choice. However, there are lots of other lasting gifts, besides jewelry, that are great for special occasions. A couple of ideas would be a fine vase or a pair of stately book ends. Of course, assuming that the person for whom you are chosing a significant gift is someone to whom you are close, then you'll probably know of any unique interests they may have and can choose a gift accordingly. For instance, our nephew is an avid scuba diver, so when he was graduating from college, we asked his parents if there was some special piece of equipment on his wish list and they told us there was. We got it for him and he was as excited as when he was a little boy! He'll be able to use that piece of equipment for years to come, so it will be a lasting gift.

An institution named Community Giving Tree has come up with a noble idea for young people to support the people in need by sharing birthday gifts. This initiative, also known as a Birthday Buddy Program, encourages children celebrating birthdays to donate few or one or two birthday gifts to the Community Giving Tree. These birthday gifts are given to the children belonging to the same age group which consists of children whose parents aren't financially capable of buying birthday gifts.
A staff member of this institution named Pattiann Bampos, who deals with the social workers said that "We give away many brand-new toys during the holidays but during the other days, social workers often ask if they have anything to offer for a child who wishes to have a birthday present.

The children receiving more birthday gifts than feasible can choose gifts or two for a needy child of the same age group and bring the items to Community Giving Tree. She further added that a children who are involved in this activity shall be rewarded with a certificate and have their photo taken for the Giving Center's Care and Share wall. The Community Giving Tree has always motivated local children as well as adults to host Care and share parties.

I Was Floored by My Birthday Gift!

I Was Floored by My Birthday Gift!

Over the past couple of months, I've remarked to my husband that our ground-level floors are noticeably worn out. I showed him some of the research I was doing on possible flooring options. He asked me what my favorite was, but didn't seem ready to chime in on the topic. So I was just going to give it some time. Well, in my birthday card from him this past weekend, he included a hand-made coupon he had made for the floor of my dreams for our main floor! I was so thrilled. He also did include a lovely bracelet, so as not to take all the romance out of the occasion, but, needless to say, I was floored! I got on the phone with Empire Today to discuss flooring options, as well as Empire Carpet options. I'm so pleased that my husband was paying attention to my observations about the floor, and the research I was doing. After the birthday gift, he told me that he could totally see what I was pointing out and was looking forward to having new floors, trusting my taste completely. I think it was a wonderful idea to tie this in with my birthday. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving! I can't wait to walk around on the floor of my dreams, from my husband.
